    Downriver - 2021

Very happy to see you growing seed from John Fiedler. He was a very close friend of mine and this community.

I'm sure we can all dig up what everybody needs here. I also would suggest Chris Fowler as @talas mentioned. He is a very close friend and sound as a pound. One of the benevolent and honest people in these circles. I'm sure a google search with his name and welsh dragon will bring up his seed shop.

Hoping to get some input or just discussion about self-incompatibility in C.flexuosum or pollen-tube growth issues. There have been many plants grown of this species all over the world and the berry size from plant to plant varies greatly. Even many parthenocarpic fruit. Has anyone experienced...

They can be difficult to germinate (10-100 days)but the same as most others as far as growing and ripening. Very cool leaf color and structure.

Can't go wrong with C.tovarii. I have grown a few wilds and that plant always is up there as a favorite.

chinense Help sorting out the Ají Dulces and CP348

You can start a thread in the Glog section for your upcoming grow. P.S. Even old C.chinense seeds should germinate 10-20 days. If you run into issues I'm sure someone can help you out with seeds. Even C.P. himself is know to frequent this site. I wish I could help you out but I have never...

chinense Help sorting out the Ají Dulces and CP348

Because Puckerbutt is intetested in selling Carolina Reaper seeds. I would assume that 95%+ of their seed sales are Reapers and to non-hobbyists that would be more intetested in a frat prank than the culinary benefits of say a heatless C.chinense. The 6-8 week germination time is a big red...

My purple chaco are always squat,Paul. That is very a impressive plant. I don't envy you one bit with all that picking though. I've found a C.flexuosum plant that is a winner for seed stock but I cannot keep the birds off of it. There eximiums, tepins, chacos etc. all around it offering up high...

    pubescens Olive Rocoto variant (mustard)

Here is a mustard colored spinoff of the iconic Mini Olive Rocoto. This season I was trying to grow the original again as they are one of the best tasting peppers out there. I grew two plants and this is how one turned out. These are substantially hotter than the original with the flavor being a...

The plant is ehhhhh. It's not in jeopardy of dying, but not what I was hoping for. I had a very good line and like and idiot I let the seeds go bad,so I might try again next year, but will still save seeds from this plant. I let all but a few pods fall and rot. They are just too seedy for me to...

    overwintering Advice on overwintering? Help

First and foremost I would make sure the plant I am bringing in is pest and pathogen free. I admit to being more neurotic than most, but I've never had bugs in my indoor grow and have wintered many plants over the years(16 last season). There are plenty of threads of members dealing with...

Dedicated this year to refreshing my stock of wild seeds. Here is an easy method for separating flesh and pulp from seed. This is more geared towards C.flexuosum and rhomboideum, which get very gummy when drying, but works on all others. The chacoense pods pictured below are easy to air dry and...
