    Crockdoc's first glog

Hey yall! It's been a little while since the last update, but I'd made some progress! Got all the plants out in the garden. Gave away 10 to my mom and 4 to my friends. I'll post some pics of all the seedlings tomorrow or the day after. But here are some pics of the garden, the black...

    Crockdoc's first glog

Thanks mpicante and pepperhawk, I'm stoked about this season as you can see. So it's been a little over a week and the growth of the large plants has been crazy. I'm really pressured to just throw them in the garden now because the weather has been amazing but I'm not sure if it's too soon...

seeds Length of time to germinate?

All of my chocolates took a tad longer than my other varieties. There are a lot of variables as stated before that can make your germination take much longer than other people such as depth, pre soak yes or no, pre soak chemical used, soil temp, hot cold cycle, etc

    Curled coty leaves

The opening and closing of the cotelydons is perfectly normal. The curling of the tips may be over or under watering.

Thanks Ghost! Yea, we're in zone 9b so it's close to perfect but still light frost once in a while. So here's this week's quick update pics. Got 2 more sprouts today, red savina and Caribbean red.

Also, I snagged a ghost pepper plant from that same garden store mentioned earlier. He's about the same size as all the other ones a few pics upwards. The latest pics are a week old so tomorrow is update time already lol.

    Crockdoc's first glog

Hey there everybody! So I got stung by the chile bug and this is my first time growing. I finally figured out how to link pics and have a bunch in order starting from about Jan 1st 2016 up until today. I'll try to update weekly or so. I started a 72 cell seed tray with seeds from pepper...

    Great to know!

    Dolomite

I found somewhat of an answer from Al on gardenweb, but he says that the cal mag in the dolomite will last at least the entire season. That's a good start.

    Dolomite

If fine grade dolomite lime is applied within a potting mix inside of a pot, how long does the calcium and magnesium usually last before having to add more calcium and magnesium? Do they both diminish at the same rates or does the mag diminish quicker than the cal or vice versa? Thanks y'all.

vendor Is pepperjoes.com a good website to get seeds

I got the PM and really appreciate you guys sending me a few extra seed packs for the poor germinating varieties. There's always a chance that it was my fault for the poor germination and you guys went out of your way to make me have a successful first grow. Thank you kindly again. Also, all...

Were the buds a different color in the past? Falling off can be normal as long as there are still some left to bloom and fruit.

seeds Seedling leaves thin yellow curling inward

To those following, I don't want to upload images to an online host so I may not be able to directly attach pics, but here is a link to a forum post with pics somewhat similar to the way the firecrackers are/were looking. Sorry it's and external link, hopefully I'm not violating any rules...

seeds Seedling leaves thin yellow curling inward

I took pics but have to figure out how to post. Anyways, great news, after about 24 hours of moving the plants out of the direct light underneath, a few of the firecrackers are making a comeback. I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not. Also I noticed on one of them the leaves were bleaching...

seeds Seedling leaves thin yellow curling inward

Copy, thanks for the ideas. They're all in plastic 16 oz Dixie cups with 2 large 3/8" holes in the bottom. What's wrong with these cups, poor drainage? If so I'll pop some more holes in them. I didn't add any perlite to the cups because I noticed ocean forest mixed with perlite dries out the...

Any info on fruit flies? I've got a few multiplying on one of my container soils and in the saucer underneath. They seem to be similar danger as fungus gnats but any further into is appreciated!
