    Cloning lemon trees

My parents recently sold their house which had a phenomenal Meyer lemon tree. This thing was about 5 feet tall and 6 feet wide and produced hundreds of delicious lemons each year. I took 8 cuttings, dipped them in rooting hormone, and stick them in rock wool cubes in a humidity dome. This was...

    pH adjustment at scale

Hey all, I live in Oakland, CA and our water here is pretty high pH around 8-8.5. I know peppers prefer 5.5-6.5 (or at least neutral 7). How do people with similar water adjust pH to water 10-15 (or more) plants on a regular basis? Filling up a 2 gallon watering can and adjusting it one drop...

raised-bed Problems growing peppers in my raised beds

This. Broad mites more likely than spider mites, which make the little webs. Azamax works well. Unfortunately the deformed leaves will never heal but after a few treatments new growth should normalize.

Quick Hot Peppers For Zone 5b/Lake Michigan Area Wisconsin

Start indoors around January 1 and you should be able to grow anything. Plant out a couple weeks after last frost (maybe late April/early May in your area?) with a healthy plant and good root system. We have Canadian growers who grow superhots fine up in the Great Whitw North.

    2017 Indoor Winter Hydroponics

Late to the party here but planning something similar so hoping for advice. How big of a container do you need for a head of lettuce? I have 1 quart mason jars so that would be awesome, but not sure if they are big enough...

    seeds Trouble with germination

I know the paper towel method is popular but I dont get it. Why would you move a fragile seedling? Ive germinated in small cups with a dome but I like rock wool cubes in a tray with a heating mat and humidity dome. Once it pops, just move the cube out of the dome and into soil. 1/4 fertilizer...

    Just a question..

I think your best bet is probably to repot the plants with a proper soil and add a dedicated plant food.

    Just a question..

The top of this website has a picture... I think youre giving your plants water with ammonia, which is toxic to plants. Nitrifying bacteria and worms are super important in an aquaponics system. https://www.cngfarming.org/aquaponics_certification_in_development

    Just a question..

Ive read a couple books on aquaponics and there are some conversions of ammonia (in fish waste) to nitrates and nitrites that occur when beneficial bacteria are in the system. Im not sure if just fish tank water has the nutrient profile to help plants grow without those bacteria present...

Curious, is the correct method to add nutrients then correct pH? Or correct pH and add nutes?
