I just got a "new" open box Sunsystems LEC 315 and I went to turn it on and nothing happened... Tried a few different cords. Tried a 220 and 110v. No signs of life. Anyone know much about these lights that could offer some suggestions?
I do typically water in the heat of the day, late afternoon or evening. The pepper loses direct sunlight before then but yes it is entirely possible that I sprayed the leaves a bit as well. My thought was that the water on the leaves was only bad if the sunlight was direct... seems I might be...
I had this beautiful CGN21500 plant that was growing really well here in scorching Las Vegas. I has been hot for a while but only recently my plant's leaves have started drying out and falling off. I know it could just be under watering but this plant has never once wilted. Is it possible for a...
Some of the stems on these plants are losing all their leaves and changing from green to yellow to brown... other stems on the same plants are healthy and green. Any ideas? I hope I can save these plants.
Update: I ate one of the pods this morning, definitely not a moruga scorpion. If I had to guess the SHU based on recent experiences I would put it between 60,000 to 100,000... not nearly as hot as the chocolate habanero I ate yesterday. I guess it will remain a mystery pepper...
Update: I've contacted the seller and he says he thinks somehow I got a chocolute moruga scorpion seed mixed in with the reapers, not sure I want to risk planting the other seeds I saved from that batch. Still got a super hot from the deal though. I'll have to try it soon.
Update: Here is a nearly ripe pod.... definitely think its is a cross or something, not a reaper. Should at least be red right? Oh well, lesson learned I guess. Need to buy reaper seeds from someone even more reputable and trustworthy.
Thank you for giving me hope everyone, this is my oldest plant and the one I have waited the longest to harvest. Last year was my first year growing and this plant didn't produce any pods so I over wintered it. There aren't enough pods on this plant currently to see more than one per node, but...
So I was sold some Carolina Reaper seeds last year from a supposedly reputable dealer online. As you can see the pods don't seem to resemble what I've seen other young reaper pods to look like. They have a relatively smooth skin and no sharp stinger. If you agree that they aren't reapers, any...
I am having this exact same problem as well... hope someone out there knows for sure. I thought that maybe it was somehow wind related because of the storms we've had recently... no idea though.
I'm having a very similar problem and the general consensus was that it was overwatering...It hasn't been enough time yet for me to see results from a reduced watering schedule unfortunately.
I have had problems with flower drop for a couple months now and the first time I tried your "phone pollination method" it worked!!! I have an aji amarillo that is setting pods nicely so I harvested pollen from it and dusted my chocolate habanero and I have my first pod on that plant. Thank...
I'm no expert but my guess is the reason no one has responded is that those spots are not very troubling. Leaves get variations in color and shape all the time. Unless the spots start drying out or go brown or black I would just let them be. Might be a little over-watered or something minor...
Typically purple in the leaves or stem are a sign of UV absorption, kind of like a suntan for plants. The dark color helps prevent further sun damage to the leaves and is very common and not usually a problem. Pics would help everyone help diagnose the issue though.
Looks like sunburn/light damage to me. Have you been moving them outside at all during the warmer days? The indoor plants need to be hardened off before going outside in the harsh sun. If not, did you recently get some new lights or move them closer?
Been a couple weeks and I still haven't found any solution. The spots are glossy and form only on the top of the leaf along the veins. They aren't insect droppings and I have seen no signs of insects on the plants anywhere. The plant continues to grow and has many flowers but it seems like the...
Unfortunately it was indoor under lights over the winter when it flattened out and started growing horizontally. It has been outside getting lots of good light since and is growing a lot but out and not up.
There are a few things I've heard of that I'm going to try this summer. I second MikeUSMC with using white pots, but you can even take it a step further and use white grow bags that both reflect light and use evaporation to help cool the roots and soil. A good layer of mulch with be valuable as...
