Hi, I’m in Geraldton and have this problem every year mainly with birds eye or Thai chilli, not so bad with super hots.
I grow out door hydro.
Mancozeb does the job, available from Bunnings.
just spray once a week under the new growth, If hell bad just top them.
The first time I nearly lost all...
As mentioned cut the nutrient, I have run just plain old rain water to sort of give the plant a flush out.
I used the GH a few years back and had it at about 450-500ppm.
Sounds drastic but a prune may help.
Hey Kev, I did the same, started off with about 14 plants in Rockwell cubes and expanded clay, then just
Up rooted or cut out the slow plants.
Ended up with seven but I prune now and then coz mine are out doors and need sunlight.
Yeah it doesnt seem to be a problem, I chop out huge solid sections of roots in my out door hydro set up to
make more room for new roots and water flow.
Greetings,
My Jolokia bushes had the very same leaf curl as you have in the pic, normally with the new growth,
I sprayed them with Mancozeb twice a week in the evening and in no time every thing was back to normal.
All my plants are in hydro set up out side so I knew the nuitrient was good.
I'm just finishing off my first year of out door hydro chillies, started off real slow ,to much nutrients, I was also using
the general hydroponic flora series.
Cut it down to 350-400 ppm and the took off ended up having to cut the tops off as they were growing over the fence...
I'm in Geraldton and have exactly the same issue, have cut off the real bad leaves and flowers and sprayed with lime sulphur from
Bunnings (stinks real bad). Read on a previous post that it is pests causing the leaves to curl. Mine are in a hydro set up and have the correct amount of nutrients etc.
Greetings All,
Fantastic site you guys have formed, have a number of plants on the go, some hydro and some in soil.
Mostly the hots, still learning the ins and outs. Most of my chillies I make hot sauce with.
Look forward to sharing info. Cheers
