    NewMexican Chiles in the Midwest

Grabbed my seed to give the roaster a workout from NMSU, I run 4 varieties. 6-4 heritage, big Jim, Joe e. Parker and sandia select. Not exactly midwest but growing here in northern co (zone 5a/b) they do very well. Nothing beats a fresh roasted batch of green chiles and I make more space for...

    New hobbyist looking for comments

I'm with hogleg on this one. My first thought was to get them into something with drainage pronto. Its only a matter of time until some serious root issues could develop without drainage.    Be exceedingly gentle moving the little ones and they should be fine.   Those 5g fabric pots should work...

soil How would you amend 8 cubic yards of soil?

Heres a pic of the ph test i did at home here. Looks like it verifies some alkalinity to me, but I had a hard time really telling much difference in the green shades on this test. I will probably run another test just to make sure.

You know, I'm really not sure why I ended up on those...they were there and it seemed like a nice idea. They have nice little adjustable vents on the top and I'm quite glad I got them instead of the standard issue shorty.

Quick little update and a question regarding everyone's favorite Poblano types...   I usually grow "Tiburon" type poblanos mostly because they are readily available from a local nursery every year. While they taste delicious and have proper heat, they tend to run small and aren't the best...
