    Unripe rocotos

Does anybody have any ideas on uses for unripe rocotos.  My season is about to end here and I have 5 rocoto plants I am going to try to over winter.  I only got about 10-12 ripe pods from them, but there are probably 20-25 pods still on them that are still green.  Just wondering if there is any...

    fermenting First ferment attempt

Ok, here is my first attempt at a ferment. It is MOA yellows, garlic, and onion ran through the food processor, then jarred and glass weight on top, covered in a 2.5% brine solution, covered with airlock filled with the same brine. It was started 9/3/19 and this is what it looks like today.  I...

    Newbie salt question

While reading what everybody is cooking on here, I keep seeing different pepper/salt combos mentioned, like peach ghost salt or reaper salt.  My question is this just a combo of salt and pepper powder or a seasoning blend of different spices, or is the salt somehow infused with the pepper. ...

    sun Sunburn question

I have 6 aji limo plants and they all are getting pretty bad sunburn.  I'm just wondering if they will recover from the sunburn or it's over for them.  They went from green to purple fairly quickly.  I did get a couple of yellows and some reds off the plants but the majority look like this.

    Which color spectrum?

I'm looking at building 1 or 2 grow lights with LED integrated chips and they are available in 3500K or 6000K.  Any ideas on which would be best or would a combo of both be best?

    Mold or fungus problem. Help!

My plants are at my office and when I came in this morning I noticed what looks like either mold or fungus on top of the soil of a bunch of the plants.  Its greenish color and there's not a lot but I don't want it to get bad if it's a problem.  Any ideas what it is and how to fix it?  The plants...

Looking for someone (that's everyone) with more experience for advice on pot/planter size.  Last year was the first time I tried to grow anything in pots.  I had a bunch of mismatched 5 gal buckets and various sizes of pots.  I'm going to buy all new this year and was wondering what size is...

    When to start plants

As I am still a complete rookie at growing peppers, I was wondering when you guys start your seeds.  I'm in Michigan, zone 6a and we usually can't move plants outdoors until Memorial Day.  I was just curious how early is it safe to start seed germination.  I'm already sick of winter and want...

    cooking Cooking time

I'm making a scotch bonnet sauce with garlic and onions.  I was wondering how long do you cook it before putting it into the blender?  I assume until the peppers are soft but was wondering about how long that takes.  Thanks

    Mold problem?

Looking for advise as a newbie pepper grower.  I transplanted my seedlings into fiber 3" pots that were in a plastic tray that had no drain hole in the bottom.  It said to soak the fiber before filling it with potting soil and then transplant it.  Now I have white fuzzy mold on all of the pots...

    thinning plants

I'm very new to growing peppers and looking for advice.  I bought scotch bonnet seeds and planted 3 seeds in peet pellets and now they have sprouted.  My question is should I get rid of 2 of the 3 sprouts and just keep 1 or leave them all and plant a cluster of pepper plants.  They will be...
