Hello all and happy growing.....i live in Zone 9b, with a LOOOONG growing season. The heat gets so unbearable during July-Sept, most of my flowers drop. I want to do a second grow, where i start seeds in mid may, put out in late July...and harvest until cold weather in November. Anyone ran this...

I had to look that one up lol....definitely has the same shape, but looks like its coming in purple....i guess thats what you get when you get a "mix", they just throw in random seeds...thanks :think:

First update in a while…got my first harvest, some small jalapeños, they are in 3 gallon containers so not sure if they will get much bigger. Heat range been inconsistent, some super hot, some mild. Got the Thai, Serrano, cayenne coming in just need to ripen up. Got my first Ghost, Red Savina...

Been transplanted outside for 6 weeks. Had some treacherous winds that tore up my leaves a good bit, but no serious damage. I have been spraying with Calcium / Epsom Salt weekly. Got a few pods developing, and a ton of flowers. With any good luck first harvest should be in a few weeks!

In zone 9, i wish my sun played around, he's serious business here lol, we have already reached 90 last week, duriung the first week of spring.

So you think the issue will still be too hot in afternoon, even with the part shade?

This will be the first season growing in containers on patio. In the morning i get 4 hours (8:00am - 12:00pm) direct sunlight. From noon until sun goes down, about 7:30pm, I get this dabbled sunlight due to my deck railing: I know that afternoon shade is preferred (i live in Texas - HOT!) but...

Week 3 since outdoor transplant… no fatalities, but some serious high winds tore up some leaves. Been picking off some flowers, will probably stop in about 2 weeks and let them go. Thanks for the view!

Anyone know what could be the issue with these leaves?

I’ve got all plants in pots, staked, mulched and watered in. Had high winds this past week so some of them are beat up. Nothing to do now but monitor and maintain, cross my fingers and hope for the best!

Trying to improvise and see how this goes.

Yeah I forgot to buy them yesterday. I have a surplus of cages that go in ground but they are too large for the fabric pots.

Potting up the half that were set out last week, bringing out a few more to harden off. Another 2 weeks should have everything in pots. Going to have to get some stakes and twine before they get too big.

Moving day for the larger seedlings. Weather is forecasted to be beautiful and warm for the next 10 days. Will use this opportunity to harden off and plant up.

Another week on the books. There is a cool front coming through this week, but plans are to start hardening off the larger ones next weekend.

I should be putting them out in March, no transplanting again. I kinda had a snafu when starting and lost about 4 weeks, so they will be going out small….NEVER try to cut cost on your seed starting mix, it will not end well. :deadhorse:

February 24 update; still waiting on last germination of banana peppers. Most have developed at least first set of true leaves. Will start some 1/4 strength dynagrow next weekend.
