    Kratky Indoor Pepper Crosses

Heyyyyy fruit!   They are small but hot, definitely smaller than they should be. Many of the pods still on the plant are of a good size. Next step is harvesting all the seeds and then drying the pods for some powder.     I took the plant out yesterday for a little tune-up. Did quite a bit of...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

No way Paul you can pry me out of Oregon in a pine box! Just moved across the state and then back, good old pandemic times.   The remaining plants are great, starting to harvest the Datils now.

    Kratky Indoor Pepper Crosses

The first fruit from the Datil came today. Had about 12 nice seeds inside. It was very hot, I'm going to just dry it out and use it for spice. The plant is currently holding about 20 other fruits at this point. I'm super excited to share some harvests. This bad boy is about to go into the...

    Sansi 70-watt grow light

I have this light as well. Their new model with the 4 arms looks much better. This is a decent light but it is heavy and really hard to hang.

    Kratky Indoor Pepper Crosses

Thanks fish! To avoid root rot I spray my roots down with .3% hydrogen peroxide. I aim for every week, but don't do it religiously. If plants are showing rot I put them in clean water only and change it as often as I can.

    Kratky Indoor Pepper Crosses

Hello everyone thanks for stumbling on my GLOG. My first one ended in a "failure" in that I had to terminate all the plants during moving. Well the good news is I'm moving again in a few weeks, it's been such lovely times.   For now I am in an apt and have about 7 pepper plants huddling for...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Well thought I would post on here for some closure. Here's how the grow went:   Had to move for pandemic related reasons, took the girls down with me. A couple met their maker along the trip down, just being smashed up against the roof and jostled around for a long period of time.   I had...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Hey Acpr, thanks for the question. I've been neglecting this blog due to now living in upside down land :banghead: Fortunately I'm fully stocked on all growing supplies, so the show must go on.   I've fully accepted that this is a 9 pepper grow now.   (edit: I'm not ordering any more #6...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Just re-read the above post, I meant #6. I obviously don't check every day :shh:. Several seeds have hooks though, so I'm not giving up yet.

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

I haven't forgotten about this GLOG, I was hoping and holding out for a full house. #4 I curse you every day.     I used a hole saw and a heavy duty cardboard box to make a nice tray.   I've put every #4 seed I have in some sort of germination.   The plants look great, I didn't even had to...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Well there's always one straggler. #6 did not germinate in any of the 3 rapid rooter cubes. I have 3 more started as of yesterday.   The other ones are looking awesome. #4 is the youngest.   I have been feeding them every other day with the tea mix. I'm still at 1/8th strength, I will bump it...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

They haven't popped yet. I started them on 2/13 so I'll give them a little bit longer before starting a new batch.   A few of them are developing the beginning of true leaves, I'm going to start feeding them with the weakest "tea" I can make probably next week.     I use Fox Farms Big Bloom...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

I have 1,3,5,7,9,10 all going strong! There are backups on the left of a few, I intend to grow a backup of each for the first few months.   I've been testing General Hydroponic's 1-part Maxigro, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it instead of MHP Gardener Masterblend.   The only worry and sad...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Update 3:  First hook! #7 won the race.   I ordered and put in a heating mat and had 3 different seeds sprout the next day, the other two were Brazilian Starfish which had been sitting for so long I had forgotten about them. I think the heating mat really works.   Order received from The Hippy...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Small update: Received my Vertiloom order yesterday. I placed my order on January 27th, so it was only 12 days until I had the seeds in hand, all the way from Belgium. That puts the status at:   HJ1 Corona  Germinating - (no hooks yet) HJ2 Meteor: 99% sure it is on the way HJ3 Solar...

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

Update 1 of many:   Today I received my order from spicesontheweb.co.uk, and I couldn't be happier. It was here in 8 days from the time I clicked order, all the way from the U.K! Amazing! They included a package of Naga Bhut Jolokia Pods as well, which made the package pretty hefty. I received...

    vendor Hangjiao #2 Meteor

If anyone has a 1688 account or connection inside of China I found them there   They definitely do not ship to the US, they have some wild stuff on there for other seeds as well.

My First Grow Log - PNW Space Peppers

It's 2020 and the growing season is coming. I've currently got one obsession: Space Chilies. Chinese Hangjiao #1-10, growing them, eating them, maybe selling them. This will be not only my first outdoor pepper grow, but my first soil-less media pepper grow as well.   Read more about Chinese...
