I have this light as well. Their new model with the 4 arms looks much better. This is a decent light but it is heavy and really hard to hang.

Thanks fish! To avoid root rot I spray my roots down with .3% hydrogen peroxide. I aim for every week, but don't do it religiously. If plants are showing rot I put them in clean water only and change it as often as I can.
