    Variegated Jalapeno Plant?

Less chlorophyll and that white tissue is still consuming energy - totally parasitic lol

    Variegated Jalapeno Plant?

Here's my theory: whoever you bought the seeds from has Fish genetics for variegation lurking around, and they don't know because it's recessive. They have a half jalapeno half Fish that they're accidentally selling seeds from. Only 1/4 seeds will be variegated, so it slips through. They need to...

    How often are hybrids created

I think I read one time that C. annuum will outcross about 20% of the time under what I assume were agricultural field conditions.   That being said when I grow out the other species the amount of pollen they produce ranges from almost none, to huge amounts. In the ones that barely produce...

    Giant Whitefly

I have never seen "giant whitefly" nest on my plants before today. I took a photo of the leaf that was infested, and then destroyed them all hoping it was a fluke infestation and not the flavor of the season around here.   They look crazy as hell, just though I'd share. Sorry for the monster...

Please help me identofy the issue/issues with my plants.

This is usually caused by broad mites, or some other kind of mite. You can place a piece of white paper under the plant and flick the mass of shoots to knock the little buggers off and take a look at them. You should see little tiny tiny mites crawling around if they're alive and active on your...

What is going ON with this pepper?

The new growth looks alright, but I'm guessing the plant is still stressed and stunted. If you don't have really good lighting it may take a while to fully recover. Make sure you keep the soil moist but not wet and it should recover - but it may not be beautiful until next season

    chinense mild Capsicum chinense peppers

I find the taste of NuMex Suave Orange and Habanada kinda off-putting. Is this really the same flavor people like in habaneros?   Trinidad perfume blew me away, but it has almost no sugar. It's a funny pepper.   Aji dulce is probably the best tasting.

free F1BC1 Free seed being offered

I spent some time breeding with the variegation from 'Fish Pepper' and noticed that every once in a while in a heterozygous plant (not expressing the trait) that you would get a very small albino sector on a leaf. We're talking like 1 in 1000 leaves or something crazy. Just something to look out...

Thank you! I just learned about his store (it doesn't turn up on google) and made a purchase. If anyone has seeds from other sources I'm still looking for more diversity.

    wanted Looking for C. flexuosum

I'm looking for the wild species Capsicum flexuosum. I've been wanting to use it in crosses for several years but have not been able to find viable seeds. Last year I ordered two accessions from the USDA's germplasm collection and they sent empty non-viable seeds. I'm hoping you guys can...

wanted Looking for non red brazillian starfish seeds

I have some volunteers that are from last year's yellow brazillian starfish. The pods should ripen in a few weeks, if you want some seed from them I can follow up with you. I bought them as a spontaneous mutant from red braziliian starfish, and they are in fact yellow but it wasn't quite that...

Hello! Let me say first thank all of you for creating this site, it is obvious that a lot of work went into the community.   My name is RespectTheTree and I'm a PhD candidate plant breeder.
