plant Chilli from the Brazilian interior

Since I started getting into chillies, my father in law has shown to have insane tolerance of chillies. I would go to chilli market and pick out the most destructive thing I could find and each time he would eat it without a care. Anyways, a few months ago he visited the family of his other son...

plant Chilli plant bought in Brazil - insanely hot

Thanks for the advice!   I am going to try the cafe one next time i visit - I fully suspect it will blow my head off.. I will let you know.  I really like the Cumari do Para. Almost a sweet and sour flavour mixed with heat.

Yea, lots of Chili shops here.  the most common hot chili that most supermarkets sell is Dedo de Moça. The ultra mild chili they often scatter freely on their plate to accompany food is called biquinho.   The specialised chilis in these shops however are very numerous. The black 'cafe' chili was...

I spoke to some English guy online and he seems to have nailed it. Not 100% sure, but seems right. It seems to be a Capsicum Annum Karneval. A common type of chilli in Brazil grown really more for its ornamental value and beautiful colours (probably covered in pesticides). However, this plant...

Yes, there were no flowers on it and I don't expect any any time soon.    I think an interesting factor is that all the fruits grow upwards but I am not sure of the importance of this in identification.   I had to look up the technical terms you mentioned but hopefully these pictures will...

plant Chilli plant bought in Brazil - insanely hot

Heya all. Thanks for the add to this forum. I bought this plant 2 days ago in Brazil. It had no label and was in a supermarket. I cut a few peppers open yesterday to add to a dish I was cooking. Immediately just on cutting them I started to choke on the fumes as my throat closed up. These were...
