I am growing Pequin's for the first time this year. They haven't turn red yet, but I decided to give one a try yesterday. HOLY CRAP!! I can't believe the amount of heat that a pea size pepper has. Yikes! Can't wait till they ripen fully and give one a try.

Alright I've read some of the other threads on pepper infused vodka, but either missed or didn't see what peoples results have been. What peppers should I use? Orange Hab's (fresh) are the hottest peppers I know I can get hold of. Is vodka the only alcohol that I can use or can I use say Gin...
Hey guys:
A grocery store by me has ribs on sale but I'm not sure which style to get they have:

Those are the exact descriptions from the ad. I'm leaning towards the...
It's supposed to be in the mid to upper 40's here this weekend - I just might have to pull out the gas grill and fire it up. I'm having grilling withdrawal - I can't wait for 50's then I can for certain get my butt out there and grill.
Hey guys:
I planted seeds on super bowl sunday, so that was what? Feb 7th. I haven't seen jack from them yet.
I planted chocolate habs, Jamaican scotch bonnets, and unknown (all these were seeds I saved from last year) and then some of AJ's scorpions. Same little grow house with heat mat...
I've been reading some of the homebrew threads and it looks like a fun hobby. I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the cost vs buying in the store? Is it cheaper/same/more expensive?
2. If you bottle how many bottles do you get out of a 5 gallon batch?
3. Could you use a turkey fryer as...
It's friday yeah!! and I just got home at about 7:00 pm. I've been out with friends drinking since 3:30. Oh yeah I'm so glad it's friday and I feel good!!! yipeee!!! :)
hey i've been looking at buying some more cast iron cookware. i noticed the more used and 'beat-up' the piece looks on ebay the cheaper it goes for. I was wondering has anyone here restored a very used piece. I see you use a light steel wool to scrub and remove rust. I also see where it's...
JayT's thread about sausage made me think about jerky. A coworker of mine makes his own jerky, but used a dehydrator. I know you can do it in your oven, but have to leave the door open to let moisture out - with 2 kids under the age of 4 this is not an option for me. I really don't want to...
check out this jalapeno:
about 5" from bottom to top of the stem; fruit itself is 4"
approx 1.5" across via a ruler
I bought this and 5 others at a Mexican grocery store I go to. Almost all the jalapenos they have are big like this - the others I bought averaged about 3.5" long and 1"...
So, from searching on e-bay it got me interested in Griswold Cast Iron. Basically what I found out it Griswold was produced from about 1880 (started under the "ERIE" name), then changed names to "Griswold" in around 1905 / 1906, it continued to be made and sold until 1957 when Wagner...
alright I didn't really know where to stick this topic so it's here for now. I was looking the other day and found this out: Quaker Steak and Lube is having a contest where the winner gets free wings for not 1 but 3 years. It's called their Triple Atomic Tough Challenge.
Here's a link to...
Thanks to Skydiver in a different thread he provided a link to www.maltadvocate.com On that site there is a Specialty Retailers tab with several choices. There are list of retailers that carry 100 plus, 200 plus, 300 plus clubs. Meaning that they have that many different types of whiskey. If...
I got a cast iron dutch oven for Christmas and was wondering what to make in it? What do you guys like to use it for? Roasts, soup, chili, etc, etc?
What is your favorite dish to make in your dutch oven?
does anyone have any ceramic kitchen knives? I hear they are supposed to be very sharp and very good to use, but know they aren't really cheap. I also read that Kyocera is the top brand for ceramic knives. are they really worth the extra money or not?
