3 gallon pots preferable over 5 gallon pots in Zone 6b?

I'm in the middle of British Columbia. When I grew in soil I found that the big 5g pots stayed wet far too long in my neck of the woods. The plants would never really develop a good root ball either. This was compounded when I tried to grow super hots since they take so long to produce.  I've...

    hydroponic Outdoor hydroponics recommendations?

No worries stringer.   My 2016 season was a real breakout year for me in terms of running coco and growing chili peppers. It was a scorcher of a summer, which unfortunately led to massive wildfires in 2017 for us. In any case, the peppers I grew were insanely hot and if I recall correctly I...

    hydroponic Outdoor hydroponics recommendations?

There certainly are a number of options available for growing peppers. After doing A LOT of reading on the pot forums and a some trial and error a few years back I went with coco coir as the grow medium. I know it's not the kind of hydroponics you were asking about since it could be considered...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Potted these up some time ago. Looks like they are close to going into their final homes. The weather is starting to warm up and I'm getting some free light now. Can't wait for some jerk chicken and pork later this year Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Gave the lads a new home. The roots were doing everything they could to stretch their legs. Should be good from now until they go into their final home of a 3g fabric pot Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Do I have another bacterial infection?

I've been looking around at different nutrients, but there's so much out there that's snake oil, and a few that just plain work. I've mainly stuck with GH Flora because it's available nearly everywhere and it's cheap. I tried the 3 part system, but frankly have just as good results with using...

Do I have another bacterial infection?

The good news is that it's not a bacteria infection. I had a look at your GLOG and see that you're using General Hydroponics Flora series. I use the same line and had the same issue. I've also been contacted by others using GH Flora that asked me about the spots, so it is reproducible with...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

After two rather dismal grow seasons due to wild fires, I'm growing the P. Dreadies once again. The two on the bottom left are Jolokia's. The rest are P. Dreadies. Both of these are the staples in my grow and the only ones I'm growing this year. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Nutrient lock out?

Yep. Flush with plain water and wait a bit.

    First time hydro, with problems

Hardwater can confuse things. I initially tried using GH nutes and Coco with my tap water before I knew what the water ppm breakdown actually was. I had yellowing leaves, leaf drop and stunted plants. I added a bit of magnesium to no avail. Then I tried calmag. Nothing changed. Then I switched...

    Chilidude season 2018

Here's hoping to a hot summer for you. Last year was a bust for me too. It was hot, but we had the biggest fire in the history of the province, so that pretty much killed my season. I lost interest in my plants and everything else for that matter. Grow is off to a good start this year though. Neil

    First time hydro, with problems

Did you mean that you are giving the plants 1ml micro, 1ml grow, and 1ml bloom for your nutrient schedule? Did you measure the ppm? Are you using tap water or reverse osmosis water? Neil

    Home made nutrient solution

We have a gluttony of nutrients here. GH Flora offers a three part system of micro, grow, and bloom. Though if you read the side of the bottles carefully you quickly realize that all you need are micro and bloom since they contain everything Grow contains. 6 ml of micro and 9 ml of bloom has...

What's Going On With This Jalapeno?

I grow in pure coco with GH flora series. I feed with every watering. I know others amend coir, though I've had my best results with sifting the Coco to remove the fine pith. It really increases the drainage and the amount of times I can water. There are a number of ways you can grow with coir...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Thanks Malarky! I'm hoping for a better year. I figure that if the weather holds up I should get two solid harvests before the frosts come. Mid-September is about the end of the growing season for me. We're only mid-may now so the roots should fill the pot come June then start pushing the pods.

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Got all my plants into fabric pots. 3 Jolokia an 2 Dreadie. Gave a Jolokia and a Dreadie to my brother was well. Love the fabric pots for the root system they produce. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Sun scald. I do that every year. I start the plants early. They're growing great. Nice and green. I put them out in the sun for a bit to harden them off. Repeat for a few days. Then a scorcher comes along and burns the bejesus out of them [emoji19]. My growers pride is hurt way more than the...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

I love the fabric pots. I have to water more often, but the root ball is always amazing. I just put a Jolokia and a Dreadie in one tonight. I have to get some more coir so I can do the other 3. Neil Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
