strange lumpy curling leaves, be it white flies or the insecticidal soaps?

I'll take some photos today if I make it home before dark, they look similar to the photos posted above, but more wrinkly. It has been happening in harmony with both seeing whiteflies and then treating with the insecticidal soap, are broadmites visible to the naked eye? I have inspected really...

strange lumpy curling leaves, be it white flies or the insecticidal soaps?

Ive had an ongoing whitefly problem here in south florida, and i hear its a pretty big issue down here these days. I have tried using insecticidal soaps a few times, but afterwords the whiteflies are indeed gone but the plants grow odd curly shrunken leaves, and unless the plant is otherwise...

    Zone 10b Questions and Advice

I had a hard time with my hunt so now I am making my own soil. I take a bag of MG Organic, a bag of Lambert organic potting mix (which is very coarse with large pieces,) 3 cups of perlite, and old rotten wood mulch from my old potted plants. I am having much better water-handling with this mix...

    Colored Mulch - Test Results

I think I'm going to be adding some silver mulch over my weedblocker because the all-black weedblocker has definitely raised my soil temps a bit too much. I'm hoping it will also burn my white fly problem away :D

seeds Something is eating my seedling's stems!

First it took out my two bhut jolokia seedlings, which were very small at the time. I found them laying on their side with the stem cut. Now, on some slightly older plants, it's happening again. You can see the missing parts of the stem, its like they are eating the stem's bark or something...

    overwintering Winter and Central Florida....

I'm down in Broward, but we have a similar 2 - 3 days of frost warnings each year. Here's what I do: Since this is always a passing condition, I have a very temporary structure I use. Simply get a few long pieces of bamboo stake, the thickest you can find. Or even up the ante and use some 1x2...

    Curious...

Same thing causes corking from what I can tell. It always happened to me last season when the pods would develop durring a drought and then we get a bunch of rain while they are ripening.

Hurrican Irene Pepper Carnage. (Not for the faint of heart)

When we are threatened with really hard winds or a night or two of frost, I build a little reinforced pepper fort. 4 rebar stakes at the corners, plywood walls, and a large tarp stretched over the top and tied to the ground. This has kept my plants safe from every harse weather event we've had...

breeding Looking for pepper breeding ideas crazy or not

Im thinking of trying to cross the only two plants that survived a garden wide desease at my house. The only two plants to make it were a super hot jalepeno plant and an orange hab. I like that they were disease resistant, and that both were very hot. Visually, they were normal looking so it...

    Is it a world record?

Its been about 60%-80% humidity here and the ac does to 76 during the day and 72 at night. But I believe that where they are they probably stay more like 78 in the day and 75 at night because they are off in a room without an AC vent.

    Is it a world record?

While they did take 4 days longer than my other seeds, which sprouted in just 4 days, I just got my first Bhut Jolokia hood popping up last night. I planted all of these seeds on thursday of last week, which was the 11th, and yesterday, the 19th, is when the first hook showed up. Everywhere I...
