If your water is pretty hard, just use distilled water. I used to use distilled water, but now I just use the municipal water and let it sit 24 or bubble out the chlorine like pepperdan said. No problems encountered yet.

Lemon Drop, I already dismantled my plant as the cold is setting in, but mine had sunburn as well too on most of the pods. Plant was like 4ft tall and 3ft wide, gave me a ton of pods but half were green and purple as most didnt have time to ripen, awesome plant.
