    The ever evolving garden...

Hi Guys and Gals, Just thought I'd update with some end of season pics. There are a few plants, notably my Scotch Bonnets and Cayennes, that still have fruit on them. They are going to be finished indoors under a HPS light I think. The rest are going to be potted down for the winter. Pics...

    The ever evolving garden...

Hi guys, more pictures from the chilly UK chilli garden. First up, I think I may owe this plant an apology... I have been labelling it as a mutant, and thinking it might not be well etc because I bought the seeds as Hungarian Hot Wax and it turned out like this; Clearly not a Hot Wax, but...

    The ever evolving garden...

Hello all, hope everyone is well! It has been pretty patchy this year in the chilli garden, mainly due to the weather here in the UK being unpredictable (I may have mentioned this before!) Nearly all plants are very healthy, just seems to be slow growing! I still have only had 3 pods so far...

    The ever evolving garden...

Yes, have been thinking about that. Made a cracking Rogan Josh the other night, but replaced the chilli powder in the recipe with some of the Pusa Jwala peppers from the above pic. God Damn it was nice, should have taken pics... but I was too busy stuffing myself to be bothered. Plus I was a...

    The ever evolving garden...

Have been taking the plants out into the garden this past week, and bringing them in for the night... leaving them a little later each night. Going to start leaving them out overnight shortly, depending on how the weather goes of course... it has a habit of ruining the best laid plans, but we'll...

    The ever evolving garden...

Right ho, taste tested both peppers now, and love them both! The green bullets are nice and mild, very fresh almost cucumber like flavour and a mild glow for heat. The thin ones I now think are Pusa Jwala, as the shop tends to sell the popular Indian varieties being an Indian shop! Just...

    The ever evolving garden...

Hello all, been a while since I last visited here, but chilli madness has taken over again with Spring nearly here! Have gone a bit mental with the Scotch Bonnet seeds from the pic in post #13 and have a good tray of nice little healthy plants to look forward to, and maybe give away as there...

    cover plants at 37-40 degrees?

wow, this means I have been bringing my plants inside every night for the past two summers for no reason! Damn, that's a lot of unnecessary work! I put my 2 Hab plants out earlier this year and became convinced that leaving them out overnight in temps below 50F was the reason they...

    The ever evolving garden...

Hello all. Pic update time, this time with my nice little Fresno plant. A bit of a slow grower at first, but she is definitely starting to come into her own now. Only a littl'un, but she's my littl'un! Fat pods!

    The Frankonian Chili Dude!!!

Hey dude, Nice pics and plants. I like the sound of the Lotha Bih, I don't know too much about frutescens types, nor have I grown any before... (edit:- other than tabasco! D'oh) Definitely one to be penciled in for future investigation! Cheers.

    Help me

Yeah, my Orange Habanero did a similar thing last year, some looked like regular habs in shape, whereas other pods from the same plant looked much more like Scotch Bonnets in shape... they're all still habaneros though I think. That one on the left does have a Scorpion tail thing going on...

    The ever evolving garden...

Well, I was wandering through town earlier on and decided to have a look around an Indian food store that I often go in, look what I decided to buy... Scotch Bonnets!!! Have just taste tested a quarter of the sliced one, and yes... they are very hot!! Very tasty aswell, sort of...

Watching the bees spread the love

Yeah, I must admit, most Bees don't seem overly fussed about my peppers, preferring the tomatoes and other more colourful flowers in the garden. The Hoverflies can't get enough though, seems they're the main pollinators of my peppers!

    Silver_Surfer's season starts

Hello Silver Surfer, just read though the thread, some very inspiring stuff! I also noticed you have some Aji Panca going, I've wondered about this variety for a while as I used to get jars of Aji Panca jam from a local food store, absolutely lovely stuff! I've never seen anyone...
