    Taste for hot foods genetic?

Absolute = unchanging. It is a science term. No stage of the process is without the ability to change. Tolerance is purely genetic = changes throughout the brain. You people need to stop the Wiki-madness. Education is the key.

    Taste for hot foods genetic?

So you have no clue what you are writing about and are admitting that you are wiki-searching something you cannot explain. So sodium is not what you "meant", it was just a glitch due to fast typing. So you believe that tolerence is something other than tolerence when you are using the word...

    Taste for hot foods genetic?

I was describing tolerence as it is in neuroscience and I had suspected that you were getting your information from Wikipedia.

    Taste for hot foods genetic?

Wow....that is incredibly far off logic. I have been waiting for someone else to comment on this prior to addressing your confusion. How would one burn out receptors with sodium overload? Do you mean preventing the Na/K pump from firing? Do you believe that every neuron would be damaged and...

Are these peppers the same or different varieties?

They could be the same, or they could be different. I know that will not help, but consider: -Someone wants to sell a seed as unique when it is not, so they rename the same variety. -A slight variation is observed and someone doesn't want to call the plant the same name as the purer version...

container Raised Bed or 5 Gal Containers

I like both methods. For raised beds, skip the bottoms, you need drainage and you want roots to be able to grow into the ground if need be (if you build them on the ground). If raised beds are off the ground, like in the above photos, you don't need to bend down and your back will like that...

Any market for used grow light setup?

I am unable to help you with a selling value or asking price. Anything is able to be sold when there is a buyer. Listing it in the forum ads may be a good start. Bear in mind that shipping will be a pretty penny, so take pictures and a detailed description, then pack it up and get an UPS...

    Taste for hot foods genetic?

There are some genetic components. The preference for spicy foods is polygenetic, with influencers including inherited taste receptors in your mouth, inherited taste receptors in your stomach (yes, they are in there too), and inherited DA receptors, all influencing your likelihood to repeat...

    T8...Usable Lifespan?

No problem. If you do not have your original packaging or paperwork that accompanied your bulbs, try emailing the sources that you purchased your bulbs from, including any markings written on the bulbs and their size. They should be able to tell you the ratings. Good luck with your grow.

    T8...Usable Lifespan?

You are asking about useable lifespan. That would be half of the actual lifespan. From HTG Supply website, "Most lamps sold have a 'rated life' that is stated on the carton or the literature. Rated life refers to the point at which 50% of the lamps will be 'burned out' and 50% of the lamps...

pests *Aphids on seedlings! What can I do?

The above suggestions will help for aphids. Are you sure though that they are aphids and not edema? I only ask because seedlings often get tiny white powdery specks from overwatering and there is a tendency to fear aphids. If the spots move, it is aphids. If the spots don't move, edema. If...

Does anybody know what this one is?

Looks like some type of Thai variant. What size are the pods? Did the pods ripen from green straight to red, or was there a progression (green, yellow, orange, red, etc.)?

    seeds growing from seeds

Seeing the pattern yet? There are as many methods as there are members. I put seeds in starting mix (planted about 1/8" deep) and watch them grow. My germ rate is always >90%. No heating mats, no light until they sprout, no nutrients until they have true leaves.

Try filling the cups all the way, then plant deeper if that does not help.

Ridiculously hot sauce with Chile de Arbol?

Chile de Arbol is a staple seasoning in my home. They are not very flavorful, but they have decent heat for sprinkling on anything and everything. I get big bags of smoked dried pods at Walmart for about $1.50. The salsa you are referring to is usually made without measurements but here is a...
