So I had an idea to use a 10x10 popup screen room canopy......
Seems to be OK and gives 20- 50k lux of light through the canopy all day.
Here is the project so far:
YetiGrow Beta 1.0 Wenzel Pop-up Shadehouse... Wally World around $180.00 delivered. (To an island)
The inhabitants...
Almost all panels show "equivalent" wattages.
Best advise... Pick a brand email them your grow area and ask them.
I have several diff panels and manufacturers and my two 60 watt Hans Panel rock beyond belief. All about the components and configurations. Really is.
Peace
The DIY LEDs are not cheap by any means. However...if you find the right Chinese models they have the drivers and aluminum already there to play with. However I agree, the 100$ mark won't do much.
There is a great guy on YouTube... GrowMau5 that has a slew of DIY videos. One deals with...
Good grow Amigo. I have several doing drain to waste/hand fed in coco and I decided to stunt them until I can get a suitable space...shade house. It should be here this week.
So I will put some pics up ASAP.
Peace
I use my trusty smartphone with a couple of different Apps for Light Meters ...they read in Lux but seem to be consistent.
I start directly under the light and work down. CFLs drop dramatically below 6 inches and unless directly under focus of the light.
I went to the local grow shop here in...
I mix mine a gallon at a time, lasts the week. But I agree, keep it in the dark. Algae growth can start if the light hits it if you keep it too long.
Oh and by the way, nothing personal to the GH supporters, but a lot of folks are dumping GH due to the Monsanto connection via Scott's now...
Great topic gang.
So I saw the pop up canopy and was quite awestruck at the simplicity. Did we ever find out on anyone trying it or not.
Backstory: Moved from the mountains of Southern Oregon where I could never get the peppers to do much except Jalapenos and Habaneros. Too Cold.
Now I...
I have been looking at Cree based HP LEDs, and from what I have seen the driver selection is the key to most successes.
The Aluminum Block/heat sinks seem to be disproportionately priced, but necessary.
Check with me at work next week Jimbo.
