I am still using this, I love its simplicity.
I love their flavour so I made some reaper sauce this time by blending them for a good while and not reducing it so much, its definitely rather warm!
For this small test batch I used some dried pinocchio nose that I had lying around. I just wanted to see how this would work out with dried peppers. My scotch bonnets will get the same treatment when my jars arrive on Tuesday!
I had whole dried fruit so I added just enough hot water to cover...
I would love to follow this recipe but I have a small problem.
I have 200 grams of dried scotch bonnets. How much would this be when fresh? Kinda stuck with this, I could take a guess but is there anyone who knows how much of these peppers is water so I can make it a bit more scientific?
Any...
Should I give established (over 2 feet tall) plants any darkness or can they handle 24 hours a day of light? I think that a while ago I have seen a topic on this but I cant seem to find it again.
Any answer appreciated,
Paul.
Hi all!
I have a fair amount of Prairie Fire peppers that are slowly turning red and its time to start thinking about what I am going to do with them. I quite fancy making a sauce with them if someone has a suitable recipe? If not then I will doctor any other recipe to suit but I am also open...
Less than 0.5% says not worth it to me. Not that I was planning on buying them for the seeds (I use quite a lot of these anyway) but it was something to try whilst I watch my other plants :D
Yours look fine to me. I love how its so easy to keep them going over winter. This is a random shot of one of mine which my kids call leaves on a stick! :)
I cut it down to a stick, gave it some light and water when the soil was completely dry and here she is! :)
I have received a reply from the company today. The pods are oven dried so I guess the chance of any germination is slim to none. I will leave them in the propagator and see what happens anyway :)
So far I have this list to try and get rid of them:
Water from below
Keep the top 2 inches of soil dry between watering
Potato slices might help remove larvae
Remove dead plant crap from the top of soil
Hopefully I can get rid of them soon!
