Yup, as usual, you guys got the right answer and in record time. My buddy growing it did say the peppers are usually longer but because we're in the cold months they've been smaller than usual. Indeed it does look exactly like a Goats Weed. Always nice to know what's growing in the garden...

I understand these start with the black then get red as they ripen. These pictures were taken in California Bay Area at the beginning of January for an idea of weather. Any guesses?  

Not all of mine had the stingers either, actually those two with the stingers were the only ones in that specific batch that even had the stingers, which is why just those two were tipped for the picture. Stoked you found your answer!

I would say yes, it looks like you've found your answer, those seem to be goat peppers. For comparison, here's pictures of some I grew a few years ago...look like brothers to yours...I'm jealous!

I haven't grown ANY peppers since that 2014 season but I have to say, it's these goat peppers I miss the most. They weren't the hottest things I grew, but they had a great kick to them and more importantly they had a really great flavor! Went so well with so many dishes. My mouth seriously...

  Much appreciated!! $14 is a great price for a SFRB and it would still be a great price if you put the limitation of 7 varieties per box, 5, hell, even 3! Variety is the spice of life and all that but yeah, roaming around the garden getting 1 at a time can't be fun for you :) Happy to have...

As wise choice. One of, if not THE favorite pepper I grew this season. I'll definitely be growing it next year as well. These things were great!

Beautiful peppers and the plant is producing well. I'd compare the heat to a Caribbean Red Habanero. Picked a few last night. That's the Bahamian Goat Peppers up front and in focus (2 with the tail/stinger).  

HAHAHA It looks like no matter what Seeds Direct labels them as, you're going to get some Caribbean Red Habaneros! False advertising and spending months growing something other than what you planned sucks...but at least the Caribbean Reds are tasty! Lesson for us all...don't buy from seeds direct!

Those Caribbean Reds were delicious. It was a great plant that I'm happy I got to grow...just wasn't what I ordered. As I said before though, that brought me here, and this community really rocks...as shown above with once again an offer to help out another victim of seeds direct. So many...
