Update:
Side garden progress.. plenty of pods on the Yellow Devils Tongue, nothing yet on the Red Bhut Jolokia behind it but lots of Pepperoncini's to the right side:
Slowly getting rid of the left overs:
Anyone know what flower this is? Definitely comes up in this window box every...
Little update on my little guy that wasnt looking so great. I moved it outside in the heat and humidity (they are native in eastern NC) and tucked it in with some tray plants. It took off and even made a baby i guess in the back against the side of the container:
yeah they've been in the ground a month now. As dry as its been here i think you guys are right that someone is going to need to soak them once a week at the minimum and what i should probably do is suck it up and buy a drip system on a timer.
I'm about to take off to Italy for a few weeks and wondered if anyone has some experience with how you get your peppers ready to be neglected in the middle of summer heat?
I'm not using an automated watering system so thats out. I'm thinking a good feeding of ferts and water heavily for a few...
I only clip off the flowers from the first Y. So in evolka's first picture... i take off the two at the first Y split but then leave the next one up on the left second Y. Seems to me the plants develop faster that way and build stronger "trunks". But its really just my imagination.
pulled it from its pot, cleaned it off and repotted it with some fresh compost and hopefully it will start doing something. This was its current state for 7 months, i'm surprised its still alive actually:
anyone have some suggestions to "wake up" an overwintered plant?
I have a bell pepper that is still green and has a few leaves but hasn't done anything since it was placed outside a month ago. Should i give it a solid dose of ferts? My intention was to gift it to a coworker but i'd feel bad...
hej hej! I think they look fine. I wouldn't worry about those bottom two leaves. The one that you have thats a little yellow might be from overwatering but i dont see a lack of nutrients on the new growth. Its tough to tell because you took the picture right after watering. The "pinching" he...
Yeah Mike was adamant about planting some because he loved them the most. I like the cheese and honey idea. My wife does peppadews and goat cheese all the time.
Year 3 of trying to yield some good produce from the back yard gardens. I did a massive pile of super hots last year and was giving them away as fast as I could but still ended up tossing a lot of pods simply because i didn't have any good use for them. This years goal was a lot more variety and...
Great thoughts guys!
I've been trying to jot down some ratios to get a feel for what works. I'll probably get some large containers of supplies and then start making really small mixtures to test and find ratios.
