1st Flower and buds

Here is my Tam Jalapeno with its 1st flower and few buds.
Story below the pic!!

Me and G/F went to Walmart today so I could pick up
2 more bags of Cactus soil(my Fatalli transplant is
doing great but the Bhut Jolokia didnt make it).
Anyway we were walking thru the plant/veggie section
and they had a few types of hot peppers. G/F tells me
today she is really getting tired of my cooking for
her always being too spicey for her (I thought she
was building up her tolerance but I WAS WRONG )
So they had these Tam Jalapenos (supposedly have no heat)
and they had a $1.00 sticker on em when we went to check
out it rang up $2.50 G/F said oh no they are marked
1 dollar outside cashier went and check said yep your right

Omri well technically it was a gift G/F bought it for me  it came in a jiffy peat pot and I have been
reading on here that some ppl dont like them but (since
I am a newbie at this) it seems to me (i probably am wrong)
but the plastic cups I use it seems they dont dry out enough
and for next season I may use the peat pots (if its a no no
to use em feel free to say way) :)

Peat pots will work but they aren't great since they can dry out easily or if too wet they can go moldy and create lots of problems

Thanks Potawie and Rowbear. Maybe I am a bit down
on plastic since this is my 1st try at growing from
(well growing anything period) seed and so far I havent
had the best results so for next season I am looking at
all and any options. But like when I started fly fishing
I didnt know to much about it (bugs/flies/different lines reels etc)
and do that well and I stuck my nose to the
grindstone and low and behold 2 yrs later I was working/managing
a fly shop teaching fly casting and fly tying and
5 yrs later doing a PBS show on a trout stream here in Michigan. That said, I learned that art by myself but
with all of your advice and from the rest of this forum
I am sure I will be successful at this faster than I was at
fly fishing :):)
(bowing down to you all doing the Wayne and Garth
"Im not worthy Im not worthy") lol

Looks pretty nice for just a buck, man!

I can second what the guys said. Peat pots are okay for thuis and that, but they cause too many problems in greenhouses and in a humid atmosphere in general. Plastic works fine and I never had a problem with Jiffy Pellets either.

Go for them!!!!

But make sure you check them for nasties before you let them anywhere near your other plants!

Yeah definitely do that. I bought an Apache plant last year and blackfly was the freebie that came with it :(

I looked at some potted herb plants on the market last summer (it was too late to grow them from seeds) and each every one had white flies on it. Not the kinda freebie I'd appreciate and - of course - I decided not to buy any.

I am kinda afraid that this will happen to me as soon as I order a plant. I will probably order some next year from a place that sells good and rare plants, but no seeds. I have heard only good words about them so far, but I know my luck!
