Troy Built weed wacker with 2 cycle engine. Was running for a while and it quit instantly. Not like started running bad and died. Just died suddenly. The off switch is located horribly and I have hit it by mistake a dozen times. But it is spring loaded, so cant tell if I hit it. It is only a month or two old, but during that time noticed that restarting hot is never easy. So when it did not restart, I went on to other things. Hours later, the machine was cold. Followed the steps and it would not start.
Now here is the thing. I put freshly mixed gas and oil in it today. The oil is brand new, but I kind of question it. Bottle gives the ratio of oil to gas, but then claims that at that ratio is is for use in engines that require all these different ratios.
So I am wondering. Maybe I just flooded the heck out of it, need to pull, clean or replace plug. But what if I screwed up the oil to fuel mixture. Too much and I doubt it would have run for the first part of the day. Too little and what? Holding a two cycle in my brain, I could see the bearing getting screwed but I think that would make things feel really loose and I am not sure it would stop a thing from running. Then there are the rings.
I would imagine they would either overheat, loose compression, and die but I doubt suddenly. I think it would start running horribly and then die. Not sure. So I guess my question is has anyone ever run a two cycle without enough oil or without oil. I am sure it happens so what happens?
