My tentative 2010 growing list for this first time seed starter:
Capsicum Chinense:
HABANERO CHOCOLATE
HABANERO RED
Capsicum Annuum:
ANAHEIM TMR
CAYENNE LONG THICK RED
JALAPENO BILLY BIKER
SERRANO DEL SOL
THAI RED
Capsicum baccatum:
AJI LEMON DROP
AJI LIMON
I’ve been successfully growing peppers using store bought plants for four years, but lack of variety is leading me to seed starting. The typical outdoor growing season in my area is from June 1 thru about the third week in September. Therefore, I am trying varieties that are on the shorter end of the ripening scale. I realize this is rather pedestrian compared to some; however, I think it suits my purposes for the first time around.
Obtaining all the seeds needed from one supply source seems to be difficult at best. Is it typical that one obtains their seeds from multiple sources each year? I’ve been checking all the “usual suspects” as mentioned in these forums (was considering Reimer until reading some of the publicity surrounding them). I would like to order within the next week to begin the germination process by mid-January.
Any suggestions or additional considerations? Thanks in advance.
