$25k per kilo, most expensive pepper in the world

hrmm interesting article, I grew something that looked almost identical some years back when I lived in florida and was growing a bunch of wild chiles dont remember what they were called but got them from another THP member I believe., I love how they say 30-50k SHU will burn a hole in your tongue lol thats pretty mild by most chilehead standards, I'll take some seeds also if anyone has 'em :)

Pure B.S. !
Want seeds from my non isolated plant?
Sasbe...can't send a ton of people seeds-limited supply.

They are no where near Habanero in heat.
BUT have the best taste as far as Chinense goes.

Almost like a Frutescence, fast, short burn then a long lasting flavor.

XLNT for a sauce , mop . or whatever.

One of my Favorites,

Great Pepper!

Smoke

Yep look like a clickbait article. The same as the article about the hottest ramen in the word ( 2 million shu)  where he added 50 Thai pepper in the soup and said it was cumulative lol.

I like how it jumps 10K

World’s Most Expensive Chili Peppers Cost $25,000 per Kilo

A kilogram of this stuff will set you back a whopping $35,000.

So much wrongness here. Even "Scoville" is misspelled.

"With a Scolville hotness rating of between 30,000 – 50,000 heat units, the Aji Charapita will burn a hole through your tongue as well as your wallet. This rating makes it about as hot as a cayenne pepper and four to twenty times hotter than the jalapeño."

Hahaha whoops, my mistake I typed the currency wrong.

Also hi fellow nyc'er!!

Burn a hole through your tongue at only 50k shu's huh? Sounds like a reliable eBay source lol
LOL reminds me of all the reputable sellers from china who tried to sell black rose and rainbow fruit seeds

Nah, they said 20 million SHU. You know it's the world's hottest when it's hotter than capsaicin itself!

I mean, i'd charge that much if I had to pick a kilo of those little f**kers.

Get some blueberry picking claws and it's dead quick. Won't do the plant leaves any good but they're gonna go at the end of the season anyway.

It's average per pepper so adding more peppers adds more cap. Are you saying you eat one pepper, and eat another one and it has 0 cap, because it is not cumulative?

Really let's not get on this one again!

How do you think pepper spray is made. Cayennes. Cayennes are not hot but all that CAP is (from multiple peppers!) So 10 peppers in a dish raises the SHU of the dish, of course! If that dish were to be measured.

Capsaicin is capsaicin, it is one chemical, some peppers have more, not hotter cap! So two peppers means more cap. Maybe that will help you get it.

Don't troll boss! If a pepper is max 50k shu 100 000 peppers will never raise past 50k shu. You can add as much to a dish and it will never go past 50k, only get closer the more you add

And yeah cayenne are not that hot but they are hot in the eyes :)

Charles no one said you were raising one pepper's value.

That's called a straw man argument. ;)
