bottles-jars 5oz Woozy Bottle Shortage?

Hi folks - I'm noticing that a lot of large online vendors have sold out of standard 5oz glass woozy bottles. Is something going on with the supply chain here?

Here's a short list of suppliers I've used that currently have no stock available:

Berlin Packaging: https://www.berlinpackaging.com/5014b34-b-5-oz-clear-glass-hot-sauce-bottles-cap-not-included/
Packaging Options Direct: https://packagingoptionsdirect.com/5-oz-clear-glass-round-woozy-bottle-24-490-neck-finish
Burch Bottle & Packaging: https://www.burchbottle.com/products/5-oz-Glass-Woozy-Bottle-24-414-pk12_75_product.htm
Fillmore Container: https://www.fillmorecontainer.com/g05-01c-case12ct-1-12oz.html

Wideneck woozy bottles seem a bit more available at the moment.

I can't remember where I had read it. But I read something about some of these companies are concentrating more on production of hand sanitizer bottles at the moment to help with the pandemic. This could all be rumors of course. This past year has really gotten a lot of people that were not previously gardening out in their yards growing their own food. This is in turn caused not only seed shortages but also shortages amongst the most popular used methods of preservation. Many people are finding it hard to even buy canning jars. I've personally been watching Amazon and deals come and go and when they pop up I'm stocking up.

Everything is a shortage. This corona has people crazy. You cant get bike parts and shipping went up 80 percent. Things are nuts.

Yea things are crazy. Ups won't even offer guaranteed shipping and prices on everything have increased. Unfortunately too many guys are taking as of the situation.

It's the same thing within construction as well. I'm a plumber most of our piping has gone up about 10 to 15% and any of our tubs that are usually in stock have been taking an extra 3 to 5 days to come in which is putting us in a bind on our new construction schedule.

Same with the electrical industry. Breakers and meter bases are out of stock. PVC conduit has doubled in price.

Bottles have gone up about 40% when i ordered a couple weeks ago. Spice bottles were unavailable. Specialty Bottle had inventory of woozies.

This is a timely reminder - I have two orders with Berlin where they partially shipped and then haven't shipped the rest. It's been 5 months now for one of them. I checked and the items don't show out of stock. And none are woozy... Time to kick up a fuss!

Wow, grim picture out there! I'm still in testing phase and haven't launched my planned new product yet, but it's a little daunting to have so little stability in the price/availability of one of the highest cost components of the whole bottle of hot sauce!

I could absolutely see this happening. With the huge shift to household products and cleaning products, there was probably a surge in price for all the containers needed to make those products. I hope this starts stabilizing a bit as the year goes on, though!
