A different hydro system

I got this from a guy bought some seeds from. A very different way to raise lettuce:

Here's how he described his system that he build in Fuji: the hydro-nut uses coconut coir for media and it sucked into the coconut by a 6" piece of bamboo between the coconut and and the bamboo base, the nutrient is poured in one hole at the end of the bamboo base pole , takes 1 1/2 gallons, it is absorbed up into the coconuts in 3 to 4 days. the idea is to create a system to stop the slash and burn farming in the islands...

He also raises Bhuts there as well as in the States for seed.

Right on! That system is so cool with the coconut as planters. Look how healthy those Bhuts are in the grow bags, huge leaves. Goes to show tropical islands are the ideal climate for peppers bar none. Those are some really cool pics.
