A cfl shouldnt heat up that much ... thats a great idea I will use that in the next couple of months

It's a cool idea and a lousy reflector.

CFL lamps will heat it up, too.

it's a kack idea if you look at it, i mean you ain't gonna get any spread of light from it, all it's gonna do is push the light straight down.

Good idea, but there are certain angles reflectors need to be bent at to work correctly, so all of the light is utilized, and not directed back into itself. And the satin finish on the inside of a can will reflect alot less light that a polished reflector.

This one is a little better actually. I use ceramic sockets though.
