about grafting

I'm going to graft some peppers on tomatoes.
Because the stems of my peppers are a bit more thin then the tomato-stems, I'm going to use cleft grafting.
But what do I use to wrap around the graft?
I don't have special grafting tape.
I'm also going to put some cinnamon on the soil to reduse the change of mould.
Should I keep the soil very moist?

You should bottom water your plants to keep the top layer of soil dry. You won't need cinnamon if the top layer of soil is dry enough since mold can't grow well in a dry environment.

As for the grafting, you can use any tape you like I think. Parafilm would also work well if you have any of that. The only thing you need to do is make sure that the graft is wrapped so tightly that it won't come loose. It'll need to hold for a long time, so keep that in mind when you graft.

Best of luck.
