an experiment

I have 1 orange hab plant that was almost dead as a few of you know from my grow log.so I used it for an experiment.the experiment was as follows.I would water it just as I did all the other plants and feed it just like all the other plants but one time a day i sprayed the leaves with straight water.a folier watering I guess you could call it.I would not drench it just spray enough for all the leaves to get a little wet.well the results were odd the plant not only came back from near death after being that way for over a month and a half but it is catching up with my carribean reds in growth.and it was a good 8 maybe 10 inches behind in growth.HAS ANYONE GOT ANY INPUT ON THIS?

i have had a similar experience with this while hardening off my plants they got pretty wilted and i misted them and they came right back within oh i'd say 2 hours. now this was due to heat and i had just transplanted them before they were outside so the water hadn't fully gotten to the plant yet. also i know if you wanted you could feed your fert. to your plants through the leaves too. now i wouldn't suggest it with a full strength mix but if you did maybe half it would probably be ok. i know my juniper tree loves it but that's a whole other beast. Is your HAB in a pot or in the ground?

Now just imagine how big and healthy that plant would be if that water you were spraying was worm tea!!

It's simulated humidity I always thought. I used to be obsessive with this with some of my (non-pepper) plants some time ago. But you'll find they get dependent, and with a lot of plants it's too much time and effort. They did love it though.
