Any idea what this is?

It's a capsicum pod.  :P

Looks like some kind of annuum or pubescen from the outside, but that doesn't really mean anything. What else can you tell us about it? What are the plant's growth habits? (Annuums usually form a very strong 'Y' with their main branches, as an example of why the growth habits are a clue.) What is the leaf shape? (Pics would help.) What color are the flowers? (Again, pics.) When you slice one open, how thick-walled (or thin-walled) are the pods? What color are the seeds? (Pics again!)

Oh yes - do they go from green to red, or is there an intermediate color change?

Do the pods form upright, form upright then droop, or droop from the start?

One last thought, sans additional pics - sometimes plants just put out different-shaped pods. Could be early-season pods, it's-getting-too-hot pods, late season pods, or just the random oddity. It could still be a Sulu Adana, but it's just putting out non-standard-shaped pods. Eat one and also eat one that is standard-shaped, and you should know if the flavor is the same or different, regardless of the shape.
