My wife would like to get me a dehydrator for Christmas! She was asking about types of dehydrators and I know absolutely nothing, so I poked around and it looks like Hamilton Beach, Excalibur and Cosori dehydrators are all good brands. One of my biggest considerations is that everything is food safe for the family (no BPA or PFAS in the materials), otherwise I just want something that works well and can help me dehydrate peppers, figs, etc.
I'm starting off with the Excalibur 2400 as a possibility: https://www.amazon.com/Excalibur-24...ehydration/dp/B0047WOWHE?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1
I don't have a huge garden and don't get thousands of figs (yet!) so I'm not looking for something very big. This is about the top of my price range but I don't want to get something cheap and pay the price for it later. Can anyone weigh in on these brands and what they like about them, and if they think I'm in the right ballpark as far as size of the model? Many thanks for your help!
