Anyone grown these?

I've been wanting to grow these things but in a bit nervous bc it's my understanding that they're not exactly hardy nor productive. They come in a yellow (Amarillo) and a red (rojo) version. These things got plenty of uses, but I think their most famous purpose is for molé...

I want to grow them, bit in nervous. Maybe I'll see how they do for you, first...
 
I've grown the Negro and the Rojo.  The wife uses them in her molé.  They are not very productive but we usually get enough pods for our use.  I grow them every 2-3 years along with de Arbols, Guajillos, Puyas and Pasillas.  We dehydrate them.
