Apple seed germination.

While eating an Apple, I took a bite too close to the core and a seed fell out. No big deal, this happens to me all the time.
 
BUT, I looked at the seed to find that it had its tap root growing. Cool, so I look for where it came from to get a picture and see this:

 
Removed. 

 

Yes, I plan to grow them out.

I did this with a Honeycrisp and an asian pear this winter, they will grow.

I have a young Plum x Nectarine tree I grew from a fruit I ate and it is doing well.

Nice!  Highly unlikely they will grow to be the same apple tho.  Most varieties need a different pollen to come into fruition.  That's why most apple trees you can buy have been grafted.  Always worth a shot tho!!
