That was my first reaction to the pic, and looks really similar, but doesn't have that typical fiddle patern. It still looks way too similar to mess with. The one in the OP's first photo looks more like a wolf spider of some kind.....
.....although, I'm not sure I'd give him a pass if he was IN the house.
