Bibb lettuce in Florida

An associate at work recommended Bibb lettuce for growing in Florida, said doesn't have too much trouble w/ the heat ...

I'm thinking about growing some in a raft system in an extra room, or possibly outside ...

Does anyone have a specific seed or source of Bibb lettuce they can recommend? ...

Thanks!

Grant, It may be to hot outdoors right now.
we usually grow early fall through spring in greenhouse.
you might check out dollarseed.com for seeds..

Here is a picture of some black seeded simpson and red lettuce from a previous grow.
Grown in an aeroponic system.

A raft system should work well for you too....

nice ... extra points for the red stripe and the (new to me) wall system in the photo!

as for outside, totally agree ... thinking about something like a pair of http://amzn.com/B000P6K89M w/ 3" net pots and a 45w LED in our storage bedroom (which is already used for growing some microgreens etc) ... an el cheapo system just to see if it's worth doing lettuce at all ...
