bottles-jars Bottle wax question

Can someone tell me if the only way to 'wax' a bottle is with bottle wax, or are there other products such as resins that can be used?

Good question. I would love to know where to get the rubbery wax like Maker's Mark uses. I have a bag of gold wax that is used for wine bottles, but when hardened it gets brittle like candle wax.

When waxing the prototypes I purchased bottle sealing wax at beer/winemaking supply places. It's a specific type of wax that doesn't get brittle when it dries.

You could do a resin, but wax is hard enough to peel off, so I'd advise against it.

One thing i'd do if I were still wax sealing is put a little string around the bottle where the neck met the cap so one could pull it & slice through the seal.

Makers uses a plastic. That' be super toxic to mess with at home - I'm sure they have a massive machine.

Good luck!
