I know you are a bit of a mixologist , so not even in the blender? I would think in the blender you would have much more contact with the smoke making the liquid actually smoky?

Yes but it's good for things you can't put on the smoker like beer (smoked porter) or whatever... ;)
 
I'd think you'd try it with cocktails since you are a cocktail person. I def try bloody mary. Granted, you could just add chipotle...
 
Definitely a gimmick but also I bet has some uses that you can't get out of smoking traditionally. Looks like a good tool to have as a barkeep, for those extra tips, when you smoke the cocktail right in front of the customer.
 
For $99 I may try it. Cold smoke cheese, nuts, maybe even salmon, and then grill it to cook it.
 
I know I posted it for it's indoor ability really.
 
I've used it and made some things slightly smokey, you have to contain the smoke and seal it for a bit to really get any effect.  I usually hit whatever I'm trying to smoke in a container a few times. But it isn't a wonder device, I wouldn't have bought it myself but it was a gift. I used a few times when I got it but now it just sits on a shelf. 
 
 
 
I did smoke wormwood out of it once though for funzies. 
 
I think when dudes graduate from Chef School and finally shave their beards, they go to New Mexico and spend a week in a sweat hut and smoke Peyote. Then they come out with all kinds of epiphanies on what kind of "new and exciting" directions they want their careers to go. After they "borrow" a million dollars from daddy-O, they open a place that seats 9, in Manhattan called something like; "Sense In The Dark" where you are escorted to your table by a hot girl dressed in Black Vinyl and wearing night vision goggles (because it's pitch black for the utmost sensory deprivation) and served a drink called a "Smoking Clam" made with clam shells, Swedish Ice and house made Vodka served with a puff of smoke, for $1,200.

Yep, that who uses them things.
