pod C. Baccatum?

Hey everyone, 
 
I decided I needed to join this awesome forum because I've been growing peppers for a few years now and I know I want to continue. 
 
The real thing that pushed me to join is the fact that I purchased six pepper plants that were sold as pepperoncini, and they are clearly not. They have flowers that I understand could indicate that they are c. Baccatum, and the fruit is starting to turn brown. They're pretty small, not more than two inches in either direction.
