Calvin's 2.0

Those of you on the chile-heads list at global-garden.com may remember the original Calvin's Chile Powder created and sold briefly by Calvin Donaghey from Abilene, TX. Tragically, Calvin developed a chile allergy and had to drift away from El Grande. But people still wanted his powder, and thanks to Tom Greaves and his efforts to recreate Calvin's, Midwest Chileheads is bringing it back.

The ingredients on the original Calvin's label include Habanero, Aji Amarillo, Rocoto, Hawaiian, Tepin, Cayenne, Numex, Serrano, Thai and Others. No additives or preservatives. We are making it the same way with the same chiles. This is truly a global powder for global tastes.

Some say it is way hot, and others say it is just moderate. I say use in moderation. $7.00 (US) buys a 4 oz. baggie. Sorry, you have to find your own shaker bottle.

Sounds good, complex flavors.

Put me down for a bag of the next batch! I got to try a touch of Toms recreation. Great on steaks and fish and just about everything grilled. This ones an all around keeper guys. Get it when you can, cause its rare to come by and sales out fast. I missed the first set.

Batch 3 is just about history. 3 bags left. I had to raise the price, but shipping is now included (couldn't get that damn USPS web API to work on my website). So $11.00 buys you 4 oz of this primo powder, and it should last a good, long while. Check it out at http://www.midwestchileheads.com
