Can I tie it up?

My Caribbean red has outgrown my grow chamber horizontally. I know Tx tied his down to make it bushy, can I tie mine up to make it go vertical? Any negatives to doing this?

What a beauty!

The only draw back I can think of is if the lights were so intense that they "sunburned" the fruit. Those would have to be some pretty intense lights, though.

Get you some soft yarn and stake it up then tie it to the stake. Make sure you tie it loosely though so when the plant grows it doesn't get squished.

Thicker the yarn the better/easier it is on the stems.

Also, trimming bottom branches promotes vertical growth. Kinda like how topping promotes lateral growth.

Thanks Tx. How much is too much for trimming? It seems like almost all branches have flowers on them now - even the lower ones. It still has most of the original big leaves on the bottom and I read in an early post somewhere that these were necessary for plant growth but they would fall off later. Do you think removing them would do the trick?
