While doing some searches on different capsaicinoids, I came across a synthetic substance created in the mid '90s called Capsazepine.
Capsazepine was made by altering the backbone molecule structure of capsaicin.
What makes Capzepine interesting is that it's an antagonist to capsaicin.

Being a capsaicin antagonist means that this compound is able to block the painful burning sensation caused by capsaicin.
What? Capsazepine blocks the burn? Hmmmmmm....
So what if one was to take some Capsazepine prior to entering a Hot Wings Eating Challenge?
Would that person have an unfair advantage over their fellow competitors by being impervious to the heat and the subsequent pain?
What if some one wanted to pound back 70 or 80 Bhut Jolokias and then just for the fun of it rub twenty or thirty raw Bhuts into their eyes?
I'm not saying she did, but I'm just saying what if...
If this compound does indeed work, and the Material Data Sheets say " The material has NOT been classified as "harmful by ingestion". ", might this compound not start showing up in competition?
http://datasheets.scbt.com/sc-201098.pdf
I can see it now, future competitors in the Hot,Fiery Food-eating Competitions having to submit a urine test sample just to prove that they are clean from using any performance enhancing substances.
But as the Cheater's Motto goes, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying".
