Cascabel chile AKA the rattle chile

I've got some cascabel seeds on the way. I don't know a whole lot about them besides the fact that they were the main ingredient in an absolutely amazing salsa they had at my college town's burrito joint.

Just looking for some more info about them and what to do with them when they grow. I don't think they are supposed to be that hot. From the capsicum annuum family.

Thanks!

I wouldn't normally bump a topic but I am really hoping to get some info and/or recipes for this pepper - I've got sprouts poking through and should have 4 plants soon (I can probably only keep one - would be willing to put some of them up for adoption to other NorCal members).

Let me know if you know anything about the variety OR if you would like to foster a seedling of this variety  ;)

Probably nothing that you didn't already know...they look cool though! Sound plenty tasty as well! Good luck man, be sure to post up some pics as they grow.

Thank Chewi! I've found some recipes that call for fire roasting them with some garlic for a salsa so I plan to start there.

I'll come back here end of season with updates!
