catchthebear 2019

Hello everyone.

It's my first time posting a grow log here, so if I do something wrong please yell at me.

I finally had time to put together a list of all the peppers I have started this year.  I also relabeled every plant with giant labels using a grease pencil.   I'm tired of running into mystery plants halfway through the season!

It's a busy time of year at work for me, but things are finally starting to slow down a hair.

Still haven't pushed my babies out of the nest yet.  Had some hail a couple days ago that scared me off putting them out.  Maybe next week. :)

I plan to put about half of them in the ground and the other half in pots.  Would like to be able to easily isolate certain varieties when they start flowering.

I've also decided that this is my last year using the double cup method.  Big pain in the ass.

Still looking for some Tovarii seeds too. Don't intend to start any more seeds this year, but hope to run across some before next season.

Hope everyone has a good season ahead.
Cheers,
Matt

Nice!  Is that your Chacoense, CTB?  Which variety did you grow?  And do you have a plan for that handful of pods?  I'd probably be thinking about blitzing them into some salsa.
Ya know what, CD...I'm not even sure!  I have those labeled as Cap 212.  I tried looking that up just now but didn't find much.  Not even sure where I got them at this point, but I've had that plant for a couple years now.  They do look like Chacoense I see in pics though.

I have another plant labeled Chacoense that is putting out small round pods. Purple/red in color. (Edit:  I just checked and those came from Pepperfriends)

Not sure what the plan is for 'em yet.  Just have those guys sitting out on a plate right now.  Salsa sounds good!  Or mix a few into a michelada :) Lol

Trying to post this several times now.

Edit:

Hey it finally posted.  Few photos from work.  I spend about 4 months in here running the automatic plug tray needle seeder.  Started this week with petunias.  Will be another couple months until we start up with peppers.  We have about 80 or so varieties that we seed up.

I'm not really sure what all that stuff is,
but it looks pretty interesting. Like those
chili pepper posters on the wall!

Seeding for 4 months? I have a hard time
with a couple of days
Lol. This is actually my favorite part of the job.  I really enjoy it for the most part.  Except Marigolds.  F seeding up Marigolds. Pain in the butt.

And you are indoors in the winter then,
for most part. That can't be bad!

Yeah, the marigold seeds are a pain.
Glad I only have to start a few.
