Cayenne varieties finicky ???

Have been growing the same strain of cayenne from the original dna for maybe a decade.  I am about 99% sure it is the one most often sold as 'long, thin, red'.  Been a long time since I bought my first seed stock, so not 100% sure.  Grows like a weed.  I can cast the seeds and have, they will grow.

Not so of golden, purple, and other not so common cayenne.

Have not noticed this is of other commons and their uncommon counter part.  Early Jalepeno, Cracked Jalepeno, Purple Jalepeno, they all grow about the same.

Anyone have a clue?
