Cayenne?

I started this plant from seed, link below. I've grown and seen many cayenne plants, none of them have leaves like this. Usually they are much smaller, more abundant, and darker green in my experience. I know it says "Long Red Cayenne" but it still states about 6 inch slender thin walled fruit. Doesn't sound much different than the fruit on a normal Cayenne plant.

It looks a bit like my long reds, except your leaves are a bit wider. If I just looked at it cold I would have guessed giant jalapeno.

that doesnt look like any cayenne ive ever grown. maybe a cross pollenated version? AAAAAAAAAAHHHH LOOOOK OUT FOR THE MUTANT CAYENNE! :surprised:

To us chilehead, cayenne is a very specific C. annuum, but to the general public and many spice sellers, cayennes include so many different peppers and/or terminology. For example, these a a few names I quickly got off google:
Cayenne, Africa pepper, American pepper, bird pepper, cockspur pepper, goat's pepper, pod pepper, red pepper, chilies, chili pepper, garden pepper, African red pepper, American red pepper, Spanish pepper, Zanzibar pepper, finger chili, ginnie pepper, aleva.....
