Chipotle Peppers 101

Want to experiment with a chipotle hot sauce. I bought some dried chipotle peppers online.

Do chipotle sauces usually get made out of a variety of chipotle and other fresh peppers or is it just chipotle peppers? Can anyone recommend a simple recipe?
 
Is there any way to make a 'chipotle' version of a habanaero pepper recipe I already have locked down? Thanks! looking forward to experimenting in the kitchen sometime this week.

Afaik, chipotles are only jalapeno, everything else is-
Smoked habanero
Smoked serrano
Smoked 7 pot
