Do they change from green right to brown, or do they change to another color first?

Thanks for the replies.  I asked because I'm growing a Chocolate Bhut right now, but the seed came from a vendor that I haven't dealt with before.  I think I see a tiny sign of one of the pods turning color, so I now know if it first turns anything than brown, it isn't what was advertised.  So far so good - The pod shape and size is consistent with a Chocolate Bhut.

I have read, but not seen, chocolate bhuts produce a few red pods and then chocolate pods later.  I think it was gardening web forum or something along those lines.
