Wikipedia is your friend! Look up "corn" and it will redirect you to "maize", and has some flower pics you can click on to enlarge. The female "flower" is what produces the corn cob and silk. They have a close-up of the male flower, too. Looks a bit diff from what you posted, but your pic is from further back.
Every plant is now making 4 flowers.
But my plants are in a double row, so pollination might not be great.
Is there anything I can do to improve pollination? Like cutting the leave above the female flower?
