Could this be a Tomato?

I bought seeds labeled, "Chile de negro" on Ebay.

I need to find my camera cord to post some more pics. As the plant continues to grow, there is a more intricate network of horizontal stems and leaf patterns. I have never seen this in a pepper plant before.

what ya got there is a pube or c.pubescens to be exact basically they are a hairy pepper species

Can't say if it is a chile de negro as I have not grown that before, but it does look like a pepper though. Doesn't look like a tomato to me.

what color was the seeds? I never heard of a "chile de negro" it looks like my red rocoto plant

The seeds are dark yellow/brown They are larger than other pepper seeds that I have handled.

Yeah, definitely a C. pubescens. Not a tomato.

you'll have to wait for a ripe pod to see if turns black.

I have a Chile de negro plant and its def not hairy! So thats a Pubscene or a cross. Thats what you get for buying from ebay i guess. Shame as ebay have great vars and prices. But it culd be somthing fun!
